Unfortunately no. All fees are due at the time of registration and prior to any service beginning.

For Teen Driver Education Courses, partial refunds are possible within 5 days of registration and payment. After that time, refunds are ONLY provided if another student from the waitlist takes the spot you want to cancel. Missing or changing your lesson schedule during the course may incur fees. 

Adult lessons do not receive refunds for canceled or no-show lesson. Students may reschedule for a fee by contacting BCDS via email at least 48 hours prior to a scheduled lesson. Any requests less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson will not be accepted.

Adult lessons may reschedule for a fee as long as they provide 48 hours notice to BCDS. Any lesson or package cancellation may be charged an administration fee.

Teen lessons may reschedule lessons for a fee. 

You must be at least 15 years old by the first day of the driver's ed class.

For our Teen Driver Education Courses, each student is typically done with the classroom portion and behind-the-wheel lessons within eight weeks.

For adult lessons, the completion time depends on experience, scheduling flexibility, and instructor availability.

To start driving lessons, all students will need a valid, unexpired learner permit OR driver's license eligible to drive in the state of Vermont.

A driver permit is not required for classroom lessons but is required for any behind-the-wheel instruction.

Teen Course:

Any missed classroom time must be rescheduled and compensated for. There will be a $60 fee for rescheduling classroom time. 

Adult Lessons: 

You will need to contact BCDS at least 24 hours prior to a scheduled classroom lesson to reschedule. There will be a $25 fee for rescheduling adult classroom time. There is no refund or rescheduling for a canceled or no-show classroom lesson.

No. For our teens and adults, classroom instruction (if applicable) is done in tandem with your scheduled driving lessons. 

Adults can start driving lessons anytime with a valid learner permit or driver's license. Once registered and paid in full, you can schedule driving lessons on our website.

If you are under 18, you must enroll in the teen driver's ed course package to schedule behind-the-wheel lessons.

This service is only available for adult clients who select the option at registration.

For adult driving lessons, students can customize what they want to learn. We encourage students to share their driving goals with the instructor and they will work to create a customized plan for the lessons to maximize your learning and help you build your skills.

Teen BTW lessons are pre-planned, and those details will be reviewed during the course orientation. 

In general our driving lessons focus on many driving skills with an emphasis on safe and defensive driving skills and knowledge of the rules and laws of the road. 

Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. If your preferred instructor is open, you can select them for a lesson.

No necessarily. We do our best to accommodate requests, however schedules can change and instructors may need to be reassigned. 

Adult lessons are typically scheduled as private lessons unless otherwise specified. 

Teen lessons are scheduled with at least one other student in the vehicle.

Teen drivers may coordinate with a friend when scheduling lessons as availability allows.

Teen Driving Lessons:

If you need to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson, you will need to contact your instructor via email ASAP. There will be a fee for any schedule changes made. This fee is expensive purposely to deter students from changing the schedules.

Adult Driving Lessons:

Adult lessons do not receive any refund for cancelled or no show lessons. If an adult student contacts BCDS via email at least 48 hours prior to a scheduled lesson and wishes to reschedule a fee will be applied to reschedule. Any requests less than 48 hours prior to scheduled lesson cannot be rescheduled.

No, the VT-DMV requires students to use the driver education vehicles which have specific safety features that don't come in standard cars for all driving lessons at BCDS.

Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the State of Vermont DMV to teach driver education to all eligible age groups. 

No, you are covered under our commercial insurance policy during all behind-the-wheel training.

Once registered for a service and all fees are paid in full, students can log in to the student account on our website and choose an available date and time that best fits your schedule. Students will receive email and text reminders for driving lessons and can view their driving schedule at any time on our website. 

Teen Course:

Our teen course is scheduled for 8 weeks. Typically, students complete the course within that time frame.

Adult Lessons:

This depends on your scheduling flexibility and instructor availability.
